Our Adult Program

Recreation classes developed for adults who want to get a great workout, meet new friends, and have fun while doing it! These classes are perfect for the beginner dancer or adult who danced when they were younger
and would love to return.

Adult classes are currently available in Highland, Irish, Tap, Hip Hop, Pilates & *NEW* Barre Bootcamp.

Barre Bootcamp

Barre classes combine elements of Ballet and Pilates for a workout that engages your core and helps improve your strength and flexibility. These classes are suitable for adults and a great way to fit in a workout while your dancer is in class, and are also beneficial for our senior dancers (age 16+) looking for additional cross-training. All levels are welcome!

We are offering two 8-week sessions starting in the new year:

  • January 7 to Feburary 25
  • March 3 to April 28

2020 Classes: Tuesdays at 7 to 8 p.m. 

Irish

As seen in the well known Riverdance and Lord of the Dance, this traditional dance form native to Ireland is known for its fast footwork and relatively stationary upper body and arms.

2019-20 Classes: Thursdays at 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. 

Highland

A traditional and highly athletic dance form native to Scotland, often recognized by the bagpipe music, tartan kilts and ever-popular Sword dance.

2019-20 Class: Wednesdays at 7:45 to 8:45 p.m. (Beginner) or Wednesdays at 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. (Advanced – have completed all exams and/or competed at Premier level) 

Tap

Make music with your feet! This is an art form for those who love rhythm.

2019-20 Class: Mondays at 7:00 p.m.

Pilates

Pilates is an innovative and safe system of mind-body exercise using a floor mat or a variety of equipment. It evolved from the principles of Joseph Pilates and can dramatically transform the way your body looks, feels and performs. Pilates builds strength without excess bulk.

It is a safe, sensible exercise system that will help you look and feel your very best. It teaches body awareness, good posture and easy, graceful movement. Pilates also improves flexibility, agility and economy of motion. It can even help alleviate back pain.

2019-20 Classes: Wednesdays at 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Hip Hop

Let loose and have fun in this energetic class! Dancing to today’s most popular, upbeat hits, you’ll learn the latest in Hip Hop – and get a great cardio work out too!
